Set in an open world, the game uses a third-person perspective, and the player plays Altaïr, who has the same experience as the game’s protagonist, Desmond Miles. The main goal of the game is to carry out a series of assassination missions under the orders of the Assassin leader Al Mualim. To achieve their goals, the player must travel from the Brotherhood’s headquarters in Masyaf, through the holy land known as “The Kingdom”, to one of the three cities of Jerusalem, Acre, or Damascus, looking for Brotherhood agents.
