Tekken 3 PS1 USA ROM is the third game in Namco’s flagship 3D fighting game series. Adapted from arcade to PlayStation, Tekken 3 ran on technology called System 12 card. This is a step up from Namco’s System 11 card, which was almost entirely identical to the PlayStation. The trick here was to achieve a transformation that would fit the console’s architecture and technology, and they succeeded.
Tekken 3’s fighting styles range from street fighting to beautiful ancient oriental martial arts. Each of the more than 20 characters has a different style (Kung Fu, Capoeira), and some styles need to be mastered before you can use them sufficiently. You can initially choose from 10 fighters, but as you complete individual story/arcade modes, you will unlock that person’s counterpart. Their stories are represented by various introductory and concluding cinematic sequences.
As in previous Tekken games, there are numerous moves that each character can perform. The game features moves such as throws (for melee), punches, and kicks (both in the air and on the ground). To help players get used to controlling the game, each fighter’s move list is always accessible via the pause menu.
Players are offered quite a few play style options to choose from: Arcade, Versus, Team Battle, Time Attack, Tekken Force, Training, and a hidden Beach Ball mode (a competition to see who can prevent the ball from hitting the sand). The Arcade version is, as the name suggests, an arcade game, and the Team Battle mode allows you or a friend to choose a team of fighters and engage in one-on-one combat. The newly added Tekken Force mode is a side-scrolling action game inspired by Final Fight. It features four levels, and a timer is given after completing them. Once you complete a certain number, a special character is introduced and unlocked.
