Monster Hunter Rise is a great game (if you haven’t played it, our review gives you an idea of how great) so when Capcom asked us whether we wanted to give the new massive new DLC expansion Sunbreak a go, we jumped at the chance. We were fortunate enough to try only two of the quests that are available when we visited Capcom’s headquarters in the UK; one to hunt a Lunagaron and another to slay a old-school Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate favourite – a Seregios. The Lunagaron was a typical quest, but we had the luck of running into another new monster, a big dumb ape called a Garagolm. Let’s just say that all three of these monsters steamrolled us – anyone like us who thought the main game was a tad too easy will be breathing a sigh of relief on starting this expansion, just before their innards get used as wallpaper.

In SUNBREAK, the adventure starts when a new monster, Lunagaron, emerges near Kamura Village, creating a commotion. This sets the brave hunter on a journey to Elgado Outpost, a remote kingdom across the ocean, home of the Royal Order and many other intriguing characters.
Here, you will encounter Dame Fiorayne and the Elgado scientists, who bring news of a new menace: a new phenomenon called the “Qurio” and a powerful ancient dragon, Malzeno, who has triggered an outbreak of monsters. The destiny of the kingdom lies in your hands.
You will seek to find out why Malzeno is going on a rampage and stop the spread of the deadly Qurio. You’ll be facing powerful monsters such as the regal Malzeno, the icy Lunagaron and the mighty Garangolm, collectively known as the Three Lords.

How to Install it?
- There is no functional difference between Switch NSP and XCI formats. Both formats run the same way on emulators.
- On a modified Nintendo Switch system, the file can be installed using Tinfoil (recommended) or DBI Installer.
- If you encounter a “too many requests” error, try again after a few minutes.
- All direct download links are currently disabled and will be available again within two days.
