Celeste is a 2018 platforming video game designed, directed, and written by Maddy Thorson[note 2] and programmed by Thorson and Noel Berry. It is a fully-fleshed version of the 2016 PICO-8 game of the same name,[note 3] which was made in four days solely by Thorson and Berry during a game jam. Set on a fictional version of Mount Celeste ROM, it follows a young woman named Madeline who attempts to climb the mountain and must face her inner demons in her quest to reach the summit.
Overview of Gameplay
Celeste Switch ROM challenges the player’s skills with a high level of difficulty. You get control of the character very early on. The tutorial is there, but it is introduced quickly, and then you are free to explore how to apply the mechanics to achieve the goal.
The control mechanism is quite simple. At first, you can only jump and climb walls, and that’s it. Despite its simplicity, or perhaps because of it, it can immediately engage you with short, perfect platforming challenges.
Levels in the game usually take 1 to 5 minutes to conquer. After the first few areas to get familiar with, the game introduces advanced mechanics like double jumps, springboards, and gel to move without being affected by gravity. At this point, you will face more challenges.

If you still find it too difficult, the game has assist modes that allow you to adjust factors such as play speed and Madeline’s abilities. How to Install it?
- There is no functional difference between NSP and XCI formats. Both formats operate in the same manner on emulators.
