In the dystopian city of Phonopolis, life is orchestrated by omnipresent loudspeakers that dictate every aspect of people’s existence. The citizens, subjected to the orders of the authoritarian Leader, work in unison to achieve his grandiose vision. Soon, the Absolute Tone—a tone so powerful that it would strip every citizen of their humanity forever—will resonate in the Hell of Retail.
By chance, or perhaps by fate, the young garbage collector Felix becomes the only person who consciously recognizes the threat. Now, he must try to stop the Leader from indefinitely turning every citizen into a mindless servant. Loosely inspired by the works of Karel Čapek and George Orwell, the story of Phonopolis explores themes such as social manipulation and individualism, but maintains a playful and lighthearted tone.
