Pikmin 3 Deluxe NSP Free Download marks the first time the Pikmin series has entered the HD era, and it looks amazing. Now available on Nintendo Switch, it brings the core series to the modern system with some refinements to gameplay and graphics. Furthermore, the game boasts an abundance of fresh content. While the exterior is lighthearted, the darker undertones make this one of Nintendo’s most intriguing and compelling games in terms of storytelling.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe Update ROM tells the story of three space travelers on the planet Koppai, which is running out of food resources. With a bleak fate ahead, Alph, Brittany, and Charlie must travel to PNF 404, also known as the Pikmin planet, to search for new food sources.

When their spaceship, the SS Drake, crashes, the three crew members land on the planet’s surface, where the story begins. It continues the series’ main storyline with some fun Easter eggs and connections that form a chronology. However, if they want, players can totally start with Pikmin 3 as their first game in the series.

Gameplay

It introduces many firsts for the Pikmin series. This is the first game in the series that allows control of up to 3 characters at once, up from 2 playable characters in Pikmin 2. This mechanic enables the creation of more intriguing and distinctive puzzles. For example, now you can not only throw Pikmin as usual but also throw teammates to reach places previously inaccessible.

Additionally, more precise attacks have improved combat. In previous Pikmin games, if you attacked an enemy, Pikmin 3 Deluxe XCI would attack their body, but this has been improved in Pikmin 3. Throwing a Pikmin at an enemy Bulborb’s eye allows you to blind them while still dealing damage.

Lots of new content has been added

In the intro to Pikmin 3 Deluxe ROM, one of the biggest changes is the addition of a new difficulty mode called Ultra Spicy.

Ultra Spicy is a true challenge mode, reducing the total number of available Pikmin from 100 to 60. The resource reduction creates some challenges. However, it is also very fun from a resource management perspective, really making Pikmin shine as a casual RTS.

Finally, outside the main campaign are new side-story missions. These tie the previous Pikmin games to the current one. It’s great new content while still featuring the familiar faces of Captain Olimar and Louie from Pikmin 1 and 2.

Graphical Improvements

While Pikmin 3 Deluxe Switch NSP doesn’t receive any notable graphical upgrades over the Wii U version, it does well in finding a balance between maintaining its presentation and making the experience portable. Regarding style and visual presentation, I loved Pikmin 3 on the Wii U and will continue to do so on the Nintendo Switch. The combination of environments that look natural and alien creatures that are still believable is wonderful.

I can’t help but feel like a little kid in the woods, looking at all the wildlife nurtured in an alien wonderland. It still feels like this could happen on Earth in an alternate reality.
