OMORI
In OMORI, two realities and one truth. A surreal psychological story with elements of thriller and horror. The protagonist will travel between two dimensions, similar yet radically different. Each reality holds its own secrets. Explore the new (old) world, meet friendly characters who, in the other reality, will immediately attack you. Explore your memories in your own way and, ultimately, discover which is your true reality and which is the other.
The combat system in OMORI is based on classic turn-based battles. However, effects, statuses, and disadvantages are the essence of the game. The character’s status is based on real human emotions and experiences. During battle, a separate window opens displaying all the effects of both the protagonist and the enemy. Each battle grants experience, which can be used to improve attack, defense, dexterity, or strength, as well as resistance to negative effects or the hero’s passive abilities.
Instead of conventional skills and abilities, the game’s characters fight driven by their emotions. They attack and defend themselves, displaying their feelings, experiences, and enthusiasm. In this way, they can not only attack their opponents but also positively influence them.
The user can control several main characters: Omori, the protagonist of the saga; Aubray, the protagonist’s cheerful and optimistic girlfriend; Kel, an athlete who is always competing; and Hiro, the oldest and most laid-back of the group.
