Born in 1986, the Metroid Dread series was inspired by the Alien franchise and the works of writer H.R. Giger, so it has always been very close to the horror genre. Now, the latest entry developed by MercurySteam, called Metroid Dread, has come even closer to that threshold as the developer has incorporated survival segments amidst the chases of entities hunting down the protagonist in every nook and cranny.
Metroid Dread Switch NSP ROM was released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch system. The game has sold over 3 million copies worldwide, becoming the most successful game in the series. It is honored as the only Switch game to win the Best Action-Adventure Game award at the 2021 Game of the Year.
Game Story
The events in Metroid Dread Switch ROM take place right after the end of Metroid Fusion. For those who haven’t played the previous parts, the intro of the game will have a recap of what happened in Metroid Fusion. At the beginning of the game, our protagonist, Samus Aran, the hot lady wearing heavy armor, was sent to the planet ZDR to investigate a mysterious X parasite. This remote planet has become chaotic with evil alien creatures and robots (called E.M.M.I). They are programmed to hunt her down and destroy her.
Unfortunately, during the investigation, Samus herself was also infected with this parasite. She was treated with Metroid Dread ROM cells. Although it eliminated the parasites from her body, her suit still bears the remnants of them. These creatures learned all of Samus’s abilities to create a perfect clone called “SA-X”. This is one of the most dangerous enemies Samus has to face in the game.

Metroid Fusion is definitely one of the most beautiful Switch games I’ve ever played. Many people also agree with this. The game’s graphics are truly impressive for a handheld game console like the Switch. Of course, it can’t compare to other AAA titles on PC or PS4, but after all, it still owns a very impressive graphical foundation. From the effects of the trees, lights, and environmental depth, cutscenes between gameplay are extremely beautiful. The game also succeeds in creating a cold and dark atmosphere with scary monsters. The characters in the game also have a high level of detail.
Intense Boss Battles
In Metroid Dread Switch NSP, Samus has to defeat ten main bosses to unlock new gameplay progression. The boss system in the game is also very diverse, and each has unique moves and attack patterns. And, of course, no boss is easy to defeat. You may have to restart the scene hundreds of times just to get past a boss. Please pay attention to their movement and attacks to dodge effectively. Once you get the boss’s health bar to zero, the game will reward you with an epic quick-time event to finish it off. It creates excitement and satisfaction for the player.
