Stray is an indie game project that was introduced in late 2015 under the codename HK_Project. After more than 7 years of development, the commercial version of the game was finally officially released on Windows PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. After more than 2 years of waiting, we also have a version for Nintendo Switch. The game, as usual, can be downloaded for free here.
Stray Switch ROM tells the story of a cat who accidentally falls down a sewer pipe and stumbles upon an underground city. What’s special is that this place is only inhabited by robotic “friends” of humanity. Why are they stuck here? What’s above ground? Why are these robots afraid of a creature named Zurks? Stray Switch NSP does a great job of recreating the characteristic fluid movements of a cat. Your cat moves very nimbly, thanks in large part to the game “cheating” a lot to help you. Crossing beams or pipes is a foregone conclusion – you don’t have to balance yourself, the cat will automatically cross it perfectly. Jumping is also simplified. To jump to a location, you just look at where you want to land, press the A button, and the cat will automatically pounce there.
It gameplay revolves around exploration, puzzle solving, and enemy evasion. Although not a full-fledged action game, it offers a fun and novel experience that blends the subtlety, mystery, and beauty of the game world. Stray ROM builds an open world that allows you to explore freely, but it’s still quite linear. The world that the game creates is wide and deep enough to deploy a system of side quests, where the cat will help the robots trapped in Dead City.

How to Install it?
- There is no functional difference between NSP and XCI formats. Both formats run the same way on emulators.
- On a modified Nintendo Switch system, the file can be installed using Tinfoil (recommended) or DBI Installer.
- If you encounter a “too many requests” error, try again after a few minutes.
